DECONSTRUCTING GLAMOUR

Name: Deconstructing Glamour

Series: Dreamscape Cubism

Size: 36" x 48"

Materials: Oils, PLA

Date Completed: 02/10/2024

"Created in 2024, the artwork 'Deconstructing
Glamour' is the fourth piece in the series called 'Dreamscape Cubism.' This
series explores the mix of three art styles: Cubism, Surrealism, and Abstraction.

In this particular artwork, a person sitting down becomes
the focus for a Cubist exploration. The painting is created by a mix of angles
and broken-up shapes as the artist takes apart and put back together the
person's pose and clothing. Geometric shapes add a lively feel to the artwork,
blending fashion and Cubist art.

The artwork with Cubist influences shares a meaningful
message about the complex nature of beauty and identity. By showing the person
in pieces, it challenges how we usually see things and encourages viewers to
rethink traditional ideas. The geometric shapes represent the different sides
that make up a person, emphasizing the layers beneath the surface. It suggests
that true beauty is found not just in looks but in the mix of experiences,
emotions, and perspectives that shape someone.

Crafting this artwork posed a significant challenge
within the series, owing to its intricate details. The presence of uneven surfaces demanded heightened proficiency, as painting the tridimensional angles required extended time and precision.

In the end, this artwork makes us think about how fashion and individuality are always changing and are subjective."
